Compressors must produce clean dry air, thus minimising risk of contamination by micro-organisms.-

Wet and dirty air will also lead to damage and corrosion of instrument.

In order to achieve the specifications featured in the table above, the following must be undertaken;

The quality of dental air must be tested annually as an absolute minimum, the record of those testings should be witnessed, and must be safely recorded. Compressed air equipment should be serviced regularly, records of service / maintenance should be safely recorded.
